Wholesale-To-Distributor Warehouses

Author: Bob Goldstein

Profitable distribution of general merchandise to grocery and convenience stores depends on reliable sources. Wholesale to distributor warehouses, also known as cash and carry suppliers, are located in most major cities. With the right suppliers, you can buy wholesale and distribute as a very profitable venture.

I have been in the wholesale distribution business for over 20 years and have purchased direct from major manufacturers and importers. As a distributor, I have discovered that using regional Cash and Carry companies and Wholesale-to-Distributor Warehouses has many advantages over buying direct.

Wholesale-to-Distributor Warehouses, also known as cash and carry are a form of trade in which goods are sold from a warehouse operated either on a self-service basis, or on the basis of samples or a combination of the two. The customers are small distributors, caterers, institutional buyers, retailers, etc. that settle the invoice on the spot and in cash and carry the goods away themselves.

Wholesaling consists of the sale of merchandise to retailers, to industrial, commercial, institutional, or other professional business users or to other wholesalers and related subordinated services.

Wholesalers assemble, sort and grade goods in large lots, break bulk, repack and redistribute in smaller lots. Many of these Wholesalers and Cash and Carry companies will promote their deals and assist you in building your distribution business.

If you are interested in buying merchandise direct from manufacturers, you should first consider contacting and visiting a Wholesale-to-Distributor Warehouse or Cash & Carry in your marketing area. It may just save you money and warehouse expense as you build your business.
